The most common issue with the Haldex system is pump failure. Generation 4 Haldex pump wears out due to the filter gauze blocking and requires replacement.

The AWD filter and Haldex oil is an often overlooked service requirement for the four wheel drive systems. This causes failure of the pump and in some cases the complete Haldex system.
